Hi guys, as promised,
i will let you know the procedure if you wish to renounce your Singapore PR. To canceled your PR you need to provide:
1. the passport that you used when you are applying PR. basically where your re entry permit was chop
2. a letter, explaining the reason why you are canceling your PR.
to make your life easier,
1.wake up early in the morning, go to ICA at Lavender, once you reach go to the Permanent Residence department (it's on the 4th / 5th floor if im not mistaken.) get the queue number from the staff outside, they will ask you whether you have provided the letter to the officer, if not they will give you a paper, you have to write your reason, your name, your ic number.
2. wait until your number's up
3. the officer will take your passport, letter, and ic. so remember to bring all this. they will ask about yellow big card as well, but i don't have it, so i guess it's fine.
4. they will take away your ic :( and give you a month stay in singapore. and a letter!
5. once you are done with ICA(it took me only 10 minutes to deal with them), bring the letter that ICA gave you to CPF Building, nearest at tanjong pagar i guess,
6. go up to the 2nd floor, get the queue number tell them you want to withdraw your CPF money because you are no longer a Singapore permanent residence. you will be given a form, fill it up. if you have singpass it will be faster to submit online.
7.wait for your queue number, then tell them you want your money! they will asked for your documents such as the letter from ICA and your passport. you can ask the officer to fill the form online as well using her/his laptop.
8.the money will be transferred to your Singapore bank account roughly around 15working days, other options like transferred to overseas acc/etc will take longer time.
9. MAKE SURE YOUR ACCOUNT NUMBER IS CORRECT OKAY. don't play play, it's your money, of all those hard work in Singapore.
10. if you have any outstanding taxes (like me) they will automatically deduct from your CPF amount. T_T
11. popular question: how much will you get. the answer is ALL. unless you have some life scheme or something like an insurance. im not so sure about that, you gotta asked brother!
12. that's all folks! easy breezy. you can check your CPF amount or submit the withdraw form online at www.cpf.gov.sg Only if you have singpass and remember the password of course. to check whether you have outstanding taxes go to www.iras.gov.sg again, they need your singpass as well.
well hope it's usefull yaa. :) nite all. take care.
